Our mission statement is taken from the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane's mission:
"We participate in God's mission of transforming individuals and communities offering meaning, purpose and hope through Jesus Christ."
This page outlines the services that St Michael and All Angels offers to those who participate in the life of parish and also to the surrounding community of New Farm.
Holy Communion
Around 50 people come to celebrate the 1 hour sung Eucharist (Holy Communion) at St Michael's every Sunday morning at 8:30am. Following the Eucharist a morning tea or light refreshments is served in the side courtyard area of the church. We enjoy friendly conversation, getting to know each other and welcoming newcomers. Why not come along on a Sunday morning – we would be happy to welcome you!

Ecumenical links
Weekly studies, involving reflection on the Sunday Eucharist scripture readings are conducted in the church building during different times of the year:
Whatever your singing ability, all at St Michael's are encouraged to sing the Eucharist hymns and join in other opportunities through the year for community singing. Those with more singing ability and a desire to share their gift can go on the roster for singing reflective music during communion. 'Michael's Wings' choral group, for those with choral or group singing training, offers a music ministry to parishioners at the Eucharist periodically through the year, and also performs at local community events in the New Farm area.
St Michael's follows the seasonal church calendar held in common by many mainstream Christian denominations across the world:
Advent/Christmas
The church year begins at the end of November/beginning of December with four Advent Sundays reflecting the theme of preparing ourselves for the coming of Christ. After Advent at St Michael's we celebrate with a 7:00pm Christmas Eve family service and 8:30am Christmas Day Eucharist.
Lent/Easter
Lent is a time of preparation for Easter, simplifying our lives by trying to focus on what is most important. At the end of Lent at St Michael's we participate in a 7:00pm Maundy Thursday, 8:30am Good Friday, 7:00 Easter Eve and 8:30am Easter Day worship services.
Feast of St Michael and All Angels
The festival of our parish's patron saint is celebrated on the Sunday nearest 29 September each year.
St Francis World Animal Day
Celebrated on the first weekend in October – bring your pets for a blessing! (picture of St Francis painted by one of our parishioners)
